The Miss Flagler County Scholarship Pageant began sometime in the 1940′s & is a Flagler County tradition. The pageant is a preliminary pageant to Miss Florida USA and the winner has the option of competing in the state competition on national television!
The Little Miss Flagler County Pageants & the Miss Junior Flagler County Pageant began in 1988.
In The Miss Flagler County Pageants we emphasize self esteem & poise. The contestants are not judged on beauty. The judges score each girl in the following categories: on- stage personality, poise, composure & how they answer their randomly drawn question on stage. The Miss Flagler County contestants are also required to write an essay and participate in pre-pageant judge interviews where they are scored on goal orientation, conversation skills & overall personality. For many of the young ladies this is their first interview & prepares them for scholarship and job interviews.
We strive to make our pageants fun & instill confidence in each contestant .
We think that all the girls are winners just for entering!
